Information on Peak, Off-Peak, and Standard Pricing
Depending on the month and day of your visit, ticket prices vary. There are three pricing categories: Standard, Peak, and Off-Peak:
- May to September: Tickets are sold at the standard rate on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and at the peak rate on weekends.
- October to April: Tickets are available at the off-peak rate on weekdays (Monday to Friday). On weekends (Saturday–Sunday), the standard rate applies.
The correct rate is automatically applied during the booking process — there is no need to select between Peak, Off-Peak, and Standard manually.
Information on Ticket Age Categories
Details regarding ticket categories:
- Infants are considered to be children aged 0 to 4 years. Admission is free for this age group.
- Children are defined as individuals aged 5 to 17 years. Please note that age verification may be required.
- Adults are visitors aged between 18 and 64 years.
- Seniors are all individuals aged 65 and over, regardless of employment status. Age verification may be required at the entrance.
- There are two types of Family Tickets: one valid for 2 adults and up to 3 children, and one for 1 adult and up to 3 children. Children must be no older than 17. Adult ticket holders may also be seniors.
Time Slot Selection
Due to high visitor numbers and potential queues at the ticket desk, all online tickets are linked to a specific time slot. You must enter the site within your selected 30-minute time slot (starting from the chosen time). Entry outside this slot is not guaranteed.
Fast-Track / Skip-the-Line Tickets
All tickets sold here are Fast-Track / Skip-the-Line tickets, allowing you to begin your visit without waiting. We strongly recommend booking early to secure your preferred time slot.
Free Cancellation
Tickets purchased include free cancellation until midnight the day before your scheduled visit. Example: If your time slot is April 18th at 12:00 PM, you may cancel until April 17th at 11:59 PM.
Purchasing Tickets On-Site
You may also purchase your ticket on-site. However, please note that availability is not guaranteed and long waiting times are possible.
If all time slots for a given day are sold out, on-site ticket sales will no longer be available. We therefore recommend purchasing your ticket online in advance to avoid waiting times and ensure guaranteed access.

What’s Included with Your Ticket
All Stonehenge tickets include the following:
- Free shuttle from the Visitor Centre to the Stones: Your ticket includes free access to the shuttle bus from the Visitor Centre to the stones (approx. 1 mile). You may also walk the route or combine walking with shuttle use.
- Stonehenge Stone Circle: Your ticket grants access to the world-famous stone circle — one of Europe’s most important prehistoric monuments. View the massive stones up close and learn about their mysterious origins and significance. A circular path provides access and excellent photo opportunities.

Interactive displays, a 360-degree projection of the stone circle, a café, and a gift shop complete the experience. Toilets and accessible facilities are available.

- Audio Guide: An audio guide is included in the ticket and available in 11 languages. To install it in advance, search for “Stonehenge Audio Tour” in your app store.

FAQs on Stonehenge Admission and Tickets
Is the parking fee included in the ticket?
No, parking for cars is not included in the ticket. A separate fee of £3 applies.
Do I need to print my ticket?
Your ticket will be sent via email. You may print the barcode or display it on your phone for entry.
What exactly is a time slot?
When booking, you will choose a 30-minute time slot (e.g. 10:30 AM). You must enter the site between 10:30 AM and 10:59 AM. Entry outside this slot is not guaranteed due to high visitor numbers.
What happens if I miss my time slot?
If you miss your booked time slot, entry is not guaranteed. Staff will do their best to accommodate you in the next available slot — subject to availability. There is no entitlement to late admission.
We recommend arriving at the Visitor Centre at least 20–30 minutes before your slot. If you’re significantly late, you may cancel your ticket (before the cancellation deadline) and rebook for another time.
How long can I stay on site?
Once your barcode has been scanned and you’ve entered the Stonehenge site, there is no time limit. You may stay as long as you wish and explore all areas at your own pace.
Can I change my time slot?
No, unfortunately, time slots cannot be changed. However, you can cancel your ticket and purchase a new one for a different time.
Which areas are accessible without a ticket?
Without a ticket, you may access the toilets, café, and gift shop. The stone circle is only accessible with a valid ticket.
How much time should I plan for a visit?
We recommend allocating at least 2 to 3 hours to fully explore all areas.
How far is the walk from the Visitor Centre to the stone circle?
The distance is approximately 1 mile. You may walk, take the free shuttle, or use both options.
What is the free shuttle?
With your standard ticket, you can take the free shuttle bus from the Visitor Centre directly to the stone circle. It departs every few minutes, without reservation, and takes around 5–10 minutes.
The shuttle also stops at Fargo Plantation — ideal if you wish to walk part of the way.
The shuttle is fully accessible: wheelchairs and mobility scooters are welcome, with step-free or ramp access.
What is the last admission time?
The last admission is always 2 hours before the site closes. Please check current opening times, as they vary by season:
- May to September (closing at 7 PM): Last admission at 4:59 PM (valid time slot 4:30 PM)
- October to April (closing at 5 PM): Last admission at 2:59 PM (valid time slot 2:30 PM)
When is the best time to visit Stonehenge?
Public holidays and school breaks can be crowded. Generally, mornings (before 11 AM) and afternoons (after 2 PM) are quieter. The busiest times are between 11 AM and 2 PM.
Can I visit Stonehenge for free?
In theory, you can view Stonehenge from a distance — such as from the public road that runs near the site. However, visibility is limited, and access to the stone circle, exhibits, shuttle, and other areas requires a valid ticket.
On special occasions such as the Summer Solstice, admission may be free but the site is extremely busy. Members of the National Trust or English Heritage receive free entry but must still book a time slot online in advance.
